Just got to the Team House here in Cape Town! It feels SO GOOD to be home (well, at least where my heart is home :) It is midnight here and I haven't slept more than an hour in almost 2 days, so I'll make this brief... Julie (one of our own from Faith Promise Church in Knoxville, TN- and now a resident of South Africa volunteering FT with Living Hope), along with Ramos and Gordon (two dear friends who work at the House) picked us up from the airport this evening! What a treat!! We are settling into rooms before hitting the sack, then a 6:30am wake up. We don't begin work until Monday, so tomorrow is church and sightseeing! Good night everyone! Jennifer LeAnn

Well, it's almost time!! In an hour, I will be at the airport to start the nearly 30 hour trek to the Team House in Cape Town, South Africa! One leg of this journey is a just over 18 hour flight (by FAR the longest flight I will have ever been on). No worries though, I am armed with 2 small pillows, an eye mask, an plenty of natural sleep aid :) Also, my niece Libby has decided that Lewis (a small, stuffed tiger I brought last year) is ready for a return trip. After a hug and kiss goodbye from Emmy (Libby's sister),we are ready to go!
As I was mindful this morning, finishing up last minute preparations, I was reminded of the time King David was being given something to sacrifice to God. Basically, David said, "No- I will pay full price for that, and THEN sacrifice it." Wait for it... "For I will not offer to The Lord my God that which has cost me nothing." WOW! What an attitude to have about doing something for God. My prayer over the next 10 or so days will be that I grasp the real depth of that statement. I don't want to give God scraps, but the VERY best I have. This trip is costing me time, vacation, a considerable amount of money, emotional stress, etc., so I know I'm on my way to understanding. Thank you for reading and for taking this journey with me. I appreciate your prayers for our team and can't wait to see what God accomplishes through these willing people that will go.
